• Annual General Meetings:  Close to half of our membership attended the meetings held in Winnipeg and Brandon.  The presentation PowerPoint is available here.  Please contact the TEAM office if you have questions on any of the topics raised.

• Negotiations: Our Negotiating Committee met with the Company on Friday, November 16^th to exchange high-level proposals.  We are currently reviewing Bell MTS’s proposals and preparing for our next meeting, which hopefully will take place in December.  At this stage we can only share with you the main theme of their proposals, which, par for the course, mostly takes away from what we have today.  Whereas, we are seeking to add to and/or protect what we have today, per our presentation at the General Meetings.  However, we can put two rumors to rest: 1) we will not have negotiations wrapped up by Christmas, and 2) the Company’s proposals, albeit problematic, will not result in the imminent and immediate annihilation of TEAM.

• Women’s Memorial Lunch:  TEAM has a limited number of tickets available on a first come, first served basis, for the Manitoba Federation of Labour Women’s Memorial Luncheon:

11:30 a.m. December 6, 2018

275 Broadway, Winnipeg

The lunch is to mark the National Day to End Violence Against Women, and to remember the 14 women killed at École Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989.  Click here if you are interested in attending.

• Children and Animal Holiday Collection: In the run up to the holidays we are reaching out to members for gifts and items for two great causes, the Children’s Hospital Foundation Holiday Wish List, and the Santa’s Paws for Cause.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation is looking for new, unwrapped gifts that the hospital can give to their young patients.  The greatest overall needs are gift cards, teen gifts, toys, infant rattles and board books.  Click to see the full Wish List. 

Santa’s Paws for Cause helps eight no-kill animal rescue shelters in Winnipeg to care for cats, dogs, and other pets through the winter months.  Click to see their Wish List.  It’s also possible to make a cash donation here. 

If you have items you wish to donate please call Kelly at 204-984-9470 or email her at the TEAM office to arrange pickup, or you can drop your items off at the TEAM office.  If you would like to collect the gifts for your area, that would be a great help.
