CETA Negotiations Tour

Featuring: Maude Barlow, National Chairperson, Council of Canadians Paul Moist, National President, Canadian Union of Public Employees Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow and CUPE president Paul Moist will be speaking across the country highlighting the dangers of this proposed deal and to say that Canadian communities are not for sale.

This tour will take place prior to the critical eighth round of CETA negotiations in Brussels this July 11-15, where offers on services are likely to take place. Just this month, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said he was committed to proceeding ‘full-throttle’ on CETA and on having the deal signed by January 1, 2012, just eight months from now.

WLC Annual Mayworks Picnic 

The annual Winnipeg Labour Council Mayworks Picnic is being held this year on Saturday, May 28. There'll be free hot dogs, orange drinks, inflatable play stations, and bean bag games. There'll also be a free bicycle draw! Bring your kids to the Freight House Park, Isabel and Ross, on May 28. The fun begins at 12 noon and continues until 4:00 p.m.

CLC Kids Summer Camp

The week long Canadian Labour Congress summer camp focuses on issues relevant to young people. It addresses challenges facing young people including social justice and equality issues. The Manitoba CLC Kid’s Camp combines learning with cooperative recreation activities and lots of guaranteed fun!

Sons and daughters of TEAM members between the ages of 10 and 15 are eligible to attend for a registration fee of $250 per camper. The camp will be held at the Anglican Church Camp in Onanole, which is on Clear Lake and runs from Sunday, August 21, until Saturday, August 27.

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and the deadline to get your application in is April 1.
